Who authored this site, the editorial standard for figures and citations, and how schoolfeasibility.co.uk sits beside the wider Digital Signet portfolio of estate and capital-finance references.

Author

schoolfeasibility.co.uk is authored by Oliver Wakefield-Smith, Founder of Digital Signet, an independent reference publisher for UK capital-finance and estate-management buyers. The site is independent of the Department for Education, RIBA and RICS, and carries no advertising or affiliate revenue.

Editorial standard

Every £ figure and every regulatory claim on the site carries an inline margin-cite that deep-links to its primary source. The source register is maintained as a single typed file (sources.json) and is rebuilt whenever a primary document refreshes (CIF round, SCA round, RIBA Plan of Work, BB103 / BB104, Gen Zero, R&R announcements).

We do not invent fees for consultants who do not publish one. 19 of 21 consultants surveyed are quote-only; we say so on every consultant page and on the home page lede. The fee calculator emits a band built from day-rate x scope-day with a BCIS regional factor, never a single point estimate.

Refresh cadence

The CIF, SCA and VAP guides are re-verified at every round-opening. The £710m Renewal & Retrofit Programme is checked at every cohort announcement. Day rates are re-benchmarked annually against the DfE Technical Advisor Services 2025 framework rate card and a sample of recent academy-sector engagements. The footer Last Reviewed date is the site-level commitment.

Sister sites

schoolfeasibility.co.uk sits beside schoolbuildingcost.co.uk (the calculator-first build-cost workbench) and schoolnetzero.co.uk (the net-zero programme reference). They share no copy. Where the buyer's question crosses sites - a bursar moving from feasibility to build, or from build to net-zero - internal links route them to the next correct artefact. They do not share schema, voice or palette.
